The name Cherry Moth Cake comes from an inside joke about the movie Mama where a ghost cares for two young girls. Nick & Lindsay DiFabbio embraced the name as they were looking for something to vend craft shows under together in 2013. They are both self taught in their crafts.

Nick as an illustrator began to have independent art shows in 2005. This lead to dabbling in web comics shortly after in 2006 and the cofounding of the live art event Super Art Fight in 2008. After retiring from Super Art Fight, his time is dedicated to the pin and art collecting group they have worked hard to build over the years.

Lindsay began her journey as a self taught toy maker in 2017. Her work has been featured with Cherry Moth Cake and other collaborators at conventions, shows and galleries since in various mediums.
